Jazz at The Mezz July 17!

Jazz Beyond Borders and Cafe Mezzanotte presents the... Jazz at The Mezz dinner concert series! Our next Jazz Dinner Concert will be an OUTDOOR CONCERT on Sunday, July 17, featuring jazz vocalist Sue Matthews accompanied by two of the best in the business: pianist Robert Redd and bassist James King. Together they present a master class of the Great American Songbook, with classic hits from the 1930s, 40s and beyond! Listeners are invited to come in period clothing if they so desire. Midway through the show, prizes will be awarded for the snazziest outfits worn by a female, male and couple. Seating for the outdoor show on July 17 is at 5:00 p.m. Music begins at 5:30 p.m. In the event of rain, the concert will move indoors, where tables are socially distanced and windows afford fresh air. Round Up for The Food Project!

We believe in proactive partnerships that lift our community. We know that when everyone works together, we can make a difference. In that spirit, we will add (and match) fifty cents to each check as a donation to U Empower of Maryland, and its flagship program: The Food Project (a youth and resource center in Southwest Baltimore City that provides a safe space for teenagers, education about food systems and healthy eating, provides meals to 500 local residents every week, offers job training and placement programs, houses and nurtures local social enterprises, and provides mental health and mentorship programs).

Support GMO Labeling in Maryland!

GMOs (genetically modified organisms) are more prevalent in American foods than in any other country in the world. While we encourage everyone to do their own research about GMOs and whether they are worth the potential health risks, We strongly support the GMO Labeling movement. People certainly have the right to know what is in their food so they can make their own informed decisions. Info and action steps can be found at Just Label It, Right To Know, and Need To Know.
